The booking process is quite straight forward, the gas safety certificate included notes the boiler being serviced visible pipework and the gas meter, the 12 month CP12 certificate provided is suitable for Landlords and homeowners alike, however there is a small additional charge payable for those customers wishing to add gas fires and or cookers to the certificate. once you have completed all the sections you will get confirmation we have received your request. Once we arrive

As Gas Safe advise customers allways ask for the Gas Safe Card check it front and back, the card lists all the appliances the engineer is qualified to work on, now if this is our first visit to you its useful for the engineer to see any previous reports you may have to gauge the level of maintenance to date, also if you have a service book for warranty purposes we can stamp it for you...

Visual and functional safety checks

During these initial visual checks we will visit the gas meter the boiler view the exit for exhaust fumes (boiler flue) any hidden sections which may be boxed in, as well as any hot water cylinders, cold water tanks, underfloor heating manifolds and radiators that you may have. We will also visually check any other gas appliances if applicable....

Because our functional checks rigouresly test everything we want to be sure before that everything is in order and nothing is missing dangerous or otherwise. Once we start we will bring your heating to temperature and test all the hot water outlets for flow and temperature, all using your systems available thermostats and timers.

Its worth pointing out at this stage that our boiler service is designed to maintain your boiler and attached heating system in good working order, but not to repair a broken one (However don't despair read on ). Should we find during these initial stages that there are faults or issues which will negatively impact on your boilers future performance, reliability and or safety we will bring these to your attention. The outcome will depend entirely on the severity of any issues found and your decision on how you want to address them, however you should be aware that in some cases this will mean that we have to terminate or postpone your boiler service until the issues are resolved. Never the less our services are flexible, and we will not just leave you, if possible and with your permission we will use your remaining alloted time as a repair visit with a view to reaching a happy ending... Results of the service

Our standard boiler service is quite comprehensive as you can see from the service list below. Once we have completed all these checks and made all the adjustments needed we will complete your service check sheet highlighting any components or areas of concern, should you like us to attend to any of the forementioned this can of course be arranged......

Examples of possible recommendations both urgent and non urgent, There may be evidence of impurities within the heating system water where simply adding chemical protection will not be enough to clear, or there may be evidence of corossion within the boiler casing or deteoration of vital seals. Service kits are not required on every service however where required each manufacturer has boiler specific variations, these kits will generally include combusition chamber seals, ignition electrodes plus additional seals and gaskets as required, where you have provided us with your boiler details in advance we may be able to fit these same day for a small extra charge. You may for example have a combi boiler and hot water is luke warm cleaning descaling the plate heat exchanger could be beneficial, however please note this is not a standard service routine and would be charged for...Hide »

Ordering of parts

It is our policy to only fit genuine parts because many of the boilers we service are under manufacturers warranty and using of non genuine parts could invalidate your policy, also they will invariably be of inferior quality prone to premature failure which will cost you the customer more in the long run...

In addition to the previous it is also our policy not to fit second hand parts or customer supplied components as we have no means to verify the authenticity.

Nowadays parts may be order only particularly if they are not frequently requested, or quite simply not readily available either way we may need to schedule a return visit to fit your parts once received. We always recommend that customers take advantage of our first job offers when scheduling a return visit to fit parts. This is because first job means you will be given an arrival time and not an arrival slot, so we will be able to get you going with as little inconvenience as possible... Hide »

Certificates & reports

We are aware that in todays world of instant communications many companies offer to supply digital certificates and reports even before the engineer leaves your property. We have however found from experience that this does detract from the main purpose of the visit which is to provide you with an excellent service at reasonable cost ...

As you the customer are paying for our time we feel our way provides you with the best compromise, more time actually spent servicing and repairing and not writing. Your Service & Repair reports and if applicable Landlords Gas Safety certificates are sent by Royal Mail 1st Class signed for in the morning following your last visit. Additionally this also provides us time to properly audit engineers paperwork and so reduce unecessarry errors.

However if at time of booking you request express delivery we can for a small extra charge complete same day paperwork sent by email. We will also process your final invoice including deposits paid and any outstanding balance to pay. Hide »
